KUCHING, 27 November 2021 – AirAsia Grocer and Zer0Hunger distributed more than 300 grocery packs to the B40 families around Kuching in collaboration with TVS Prihatin in-conjunction with the upcoming Christmas celebration.
The community outreach program was initiated by AirAsia and Zer0Hunger with the support from Allianz in providing grocery assistance to the B40 families and marginalised communities nationwide especially those who were hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. Hope Place Kuching and Society for Kuching Urban Poor (SKUP) are among the selected non-governmental organisations to assist on the distribution to the beneficiaries. The program was jointly organised in conjunction with TVS Prihatin, an annual community engagement initiative by TVS.
“Through this initiative and collaborations, not only we are supporting the families but also the local businesses by procuring fresh produce and groceries from them. AirAsia Grocer supports from end-to-end process, from procurement to the last mile fulfilment. And in partnerships, we assist NGOs in the distribution to the families too, whether in rural areas or the urban poor,” said Haida Daut, Head of Partnership, AirAsia Grocer. Also present was Nik Adina Taty, Group Head of Communications, AirAsia Group.
Farhan Hilmi, Operations Director of Zer0Hunger added, “Zer0Hunger is a platform that calls all NGOs to collaborate in providing a helping hand to the marginalised communities. Besides Hope Place and SKUP in Kuching, we have also distributed the grocery packs to beneficiaries in Asajaya, Padawan and Serian areas.”
The handover of the 40 grocery packs was received by Heidi Law, the Operations Manager of Hope Place Kuching and SKUP was represented by Colonel (Rtd) Fabian Wong. At the same event, SKUP distributed the groceries to the needy families of Kampung Kudei and Poh Kwong Park.
“TVS welcomes any corporates, startups, social enterprises, NGOs and small medium enterprises to collaborate with TVS Prihatin in doing good deeds to the community in Sarawak, as with AirAsia and Zer0Hunger.
