Sign Language Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken content into sign language during live or pre-recorded broadcasts, including news, programs, interviews, and special events.
• Ensure clarity, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity while interpreting.
• Perform simultaneous interpretation for live events, such as breaking news, announcements, or emergency broadcasts.
• Participate in video shoots for sign language segments when needed.
• Stay updated on new sign language developments, regional variations, and industry standards.
• Proficient in the sign language used in the region; Malaysian Sign Language (BIM).

Requirement

• Certification from a recognised Sign Language Interpreter association or board.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as professional Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a media or public setting.
• Experience in broadcasting or live interpretation is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the station’s broadcasting schedule.
