Video Editor


Responsibilities
- Editing and assembling recorded raw material into a suitable, finished product ready for broadcasting;
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film/tv programs or news;
- Mix and balance speech, music, and other sounds to enhance the final video, and add sound effects or audio elements to improve storytelling;
- Create rough and final cuts;
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running;
- Incorporate graphical elements and special effects to enhance the visual appeal and clarity of news stories and the graphics and effects align with the overall tone and style of the content;
- Consult with producers from production to post-production process;
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximise efficiency;
- Organise and manage digital footage and other media assets and ensure a systemic and accessible archive of all produced content
Requirement
- A Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Videography, Cinematography or or a related field, or equivalent profession experience;
- Proven work experience as Video Editor;
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premier, After Effects, and Final Cut);
- Demonstrable video editing ability with strong portfolio (include a link to portfolio in your resume);
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity;
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing;
- Creative mind and storytelling skills;
- Willing to work in shift
