KUCHING, 12 August 2021 – The search for P. Ramlee and Saloma enthusiasts start now! TVS introduces Getaran Jiwa, a singing competition made for those with a classic soul. For singers aged 18 and above, Getaran Jiwa aims to revive renditions composed by the Malaysian singing legend, the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee.
With Mia Hassan and Fir Affandi as the host, Getaran Jiwa takes you on a nostalgic ride as they dive into the era of a legendary artist from the Malay arts industry. Produced by TVS, this singing competition showcases the timelessness and versatility of the late P. Ramlee’s work while paying homage to the legacy that was left behind for us.
“TVS will always provide a platform for those who are talented in the field of singing to showcase their talents – to collaborate with them and other productions in Sarawak to produce a successful program by inviting as many talents to join this singing competition.” said Suhaimi Sulaiman, Chief Executive of TVS.
Yume Suryani, Producer added, “As P. Ramlee’s famous composition goes, ‘Tak mungkin hilang irama dan lagu’, Getaran Jiwa will not only highlight the contestant’s singing abilities but also their stage performance. Through this singing competition, we are honoured to be able to celebrate the works and legacy of the late P. Ramlee and Saloma.
The competition will be judged by professional juries and an online voting system will be used whereby the audience can vote for their favourite contestant through scanning the QR code displayed on screen during the competition. The winners of this competition will walk away with cash prizes and a trophy.
Getaran Jiwa Submission Terms & Condition: Getaran Jiwa – TVS
Adhering to new norms, auditions will be undertaken through video submission. Video entries are to be sent in horizontal/landscape position, in mp4 format with a duration of no more than 5 minutes and singing should be recorded using a microphone. Participants are required to only audition with the songs stated in the terms and conditions. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a face-to-face selection round. Entries are opened on the 14th August 2021, Saturday and interested individuals may send their video submissions to music@tvstv.my.
