KUCHING, 31 March 2021 – Sarawak Media Group (SMG), and Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak (SUTS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) embarking on various collaborations including expertise exchange, training, curriculum development and internship opportunities.
The exchanging of MoU took place at the lecture theatre of Swinburne with the witness of The Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg; Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research; Tan Sri Datuk Amar Morshidi Abdul Ghani, Chairman of the Board of Directors between Suhaimi Sulaiman, Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Media Group and Swinburne’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Chief Executive Officer, Professor John Wilson.
“At SMG, we believe that it is a perfect place to nurture and share our experiences with the students because it will be an easier transition from study going into the working environment,” says Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Media Group (SMG), Suhaimi Sulaiman.
He added, “This ensures a smooth adjustment and full preparation for the industry. SMG also works as a training ground for students to be creative and shine in their works.”
This collaboration will benefit both parties, students and the community as a whole in terms of training opportunities for both Swinburne and public participants, internships and placements and to partner with SMG to develop creative content for distribution platforms operated by the company.
