TVS Premieres Empresses in The Palace: The Legend of Zhen Huan That Entwines Love, Power and Wealth

KUCHING, 29 October 2021 – Empresses in the Palace is a Chinese television series that brings you back to the historical setting in the Qing Dynasty where Zhen Huan, a young woman born in Eight Banners’ family marries the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Yongzheng.


This series spirals down to many betrayals and murderous scandals among the Royal Concubines in the Forbidden City harem who were being stripped off of their youth and beauty in a never ending conflict involving love, power and wealth in which Zhen Huan prevails to be the most powerful woman in the Emperor’s harem that transforms her from a kind-hearted, clever girl to a power hungry, manipulative woman.


Starring Sun Li as Zhen Huan, Chen Jianbin as Emperor Yongzheng and Li Dongxue as Yunli, this series portrays the change of character in Zhen Huan, the titular protagonist who becomes the favourite concubine to Emperor Yongzheng. After struggling with abuse in the Emperor’s harem, she left the palace broken-hearted and ended up falling for the Emperor’s brother, Yunli.


Gracing the screen of TVS on the 11th of October 2021, Empresses in the Palace will keep you occupied with a rollercoaster ride of emotions every Monday until Thursday at 9.30pm at TVS, Channel 122 Astro and MYTV.
